Happy News!

Sunday March 25th 2012, 1:53 pm

Haden and I just found out that our work on Batwoman has won this year’s coveted GLAAD award for the comics category. This is extremely gratifying, because we’ve been working very hard to make this character multifaceted and someone to believe in, while showing her develop realistic personal relationships over time. So the recognition from the GLAAD awards bolsters us greatly. And thank you for all of the support the series has been getting from you all, the comics readership community.

Congratulations!!! A more than well-deserved award. Your depiction of Kate’s life and relationships is one of the most natural, realistic and relatable (not to mention moving) I have had the pleasure to read in a long time, in any medium, and something which I think a lot of queer readers have been craving. It is only natural you should get this kind of recognition…

Hell, what am I saying. Man, I’m so happy for you and for Batwoman!!! I think I’m just going to salute your original art page adorning my mantlepiece. And re-read the whole first arc for what will probably be the eleventh time tonight 😀

Cheers, J3! Keep on rocking this awesome series!
