Michael Moorcock’s Hawkmoon: The Sword Of Dawn, and The Runsestaff

The Arctic Marauder by Jacques Tardi, one of Europe’s finest comics creators, There has been some books over the past couple years to make their way to the U.S. finally.

Big Love: Recently watched the series finale. Oh my god, that was a rollercoaster of an ending. I’ve heard complaints about the last two seasons of the series and I honestly can’t say enough about how wrong those criticisms have been, in my humble opinion. I’ve felt the writing on that series has been astounding from beginning to end. Very powerful and intense, and at times highly stressful. The show for the past 2 seasons kept building and building, as if things things would completely boil over any moment, until release. Watching the ending really shows how purposeful it all was, that there needed to be this intensity, rising to a point of breaking in order for something new to emerge from the chaos. For those who’ve not seen it, sorry for rambling on, just wanted to express my enthusiasm for how amazingly executed the series had been.

I don’t know why, but this blog entry was so cool.

I’m not listening to any music right now. My ipod hasn’t been charged for days. Reading Vagabond Vol.1 by Takehiko Inoue(the art. The ART. wow). As for TV, don’t watch it much, but I’ll confess I didn’t think the Grey’s Anatomy musical was as bad as I thought it was going to be.

-_-

OMG!! Another Big Love fan! I’m right there with you, J3 and if I could just add … what an incredible cast Big Love has been fortunate enough to have.

Oh, and for the fun of it :

Hello Erica
Glad you like this sort of random blog. I intend to do more like it.

I’ve not read Vagabond, I’ve backed away from manga a little, excluding anything Osamu Tezuka. I adore his work.

I confess I’ve also not seen Grey’s Anatomy. We are TV junkies around here though.

Hey there Pam

Yeah Big Love is amazing. Speaking of quality television, we watched the first episode of The Killing on AMC last night, which stars that actress from Big Love that played the twins from the compound. Its a murder mystery show and she plays a detective. We thought it was damn good. The pacing is unique, it’s not hyperactive like some shows can be but maintains your interest, and is emotionally powerful. And Mireille Enos is such an excellent choice. I love that they cast an actress like her rather than what TV usually goes for, brilliant.

Heres a link about it…

I just found out about Serge Gainsbourg over the last year. I really dug Historie De Melody. I started an album-posting blog this year, mainly Krautrock, psychedelic, early electronic, jazz stuff.
