Well Now…

Friday February 06th 2009, 11:30 am

…that announcements have FINALLY been made on what is going on with Batwoman I can officially talk about it. It is true the Batwoman series is gone, but not removed, and now will be taking over Detective Comics. We will have a release in June. Check out the preview on Newsarama and you can expect more teaser images here soon as well. We’ve got a few completed issues ready to go so I’m tempted to show a lot of stuff but I’m going to have meter it out a bit because I don’t want to give away too much.

Horrible News Tonight…

Friday February 06th 2009, 12:43 am

I just found out tonight that longtime rock’n’roller, Lux Interior, lead singer for the infamous Cramps has died at age 60. Apparently, from reports, that it was due to a heart condition. This saddens Wendy and I greatly, very depressing news. The Cramps have been, for ages, one of the all time greatest alternative rock acts ever. They have been a huge influence, with their twisted take on 50’s rock’n’roll, dubbed psychobilly. Lux was a master showman. Everytime I saw them play live it was an amazing exhilarating thrill ride thrust of energy. You always walked out of a Cramps show amped up so high that you’re afraid of the inevitable crash to follow. Even at their age they could still rock the house down to the floor. Lux brought a certain psychotic but elegant sense to sleaze. The last time we saw them play he was his usual prowling daring self. He was infamous for getting stripped down to nothing but a g-string and fuck me pumps, but on this occasion he was brazen enough to let his god made manhood hang out for the world to see in all of his absurd glory. It was shocking, crazy, funny, and sooo sweetly dirty. He WAS rock’n’roll. Between him and his bandmate and partner Poison Ivy they made the Cramps forever legends of the underground music scene. They’ve been a massive influence on my life in very pleasing insidious ways. Lux will be missed. I think tomorrow I’m going to have a Cramps fest and bliss out to psychobilly at it’s best!!
