ROBOTIKA (SUPPORT COOL COMICS NOW!)

A friend of mine by the name of Alex Sheikman is the creator and artist of the series called Robotika, currently published by the under turmoil Archaia Press. Here’s the the deal, Robotika is a very imaginative book that has very small sales numbers due to a lack of reallly good promotion, and then the publisher ran into some serious troubles causing the book to be unfairly delayed beyond expectations. But now, through some wrangling, Archaia press are moving forward with publishing the remainder of the second series. They are taking an interesting approach by doing this in two double sized editions. The first, reprints the original first issue of the second series along with the unpublished second issue, together in one book. The second double sized issue will contain the unpublished issues 3 and 4. And, to top it off, collections of the first series are still available. This is good creative stuff! This book and his work need all the support it can get.
Alex has made printable coupons with order codes that can be brought to your local comics store to get them to order these books specifically for you. This material is wonderfully strange and unique, all done with a real sense of passion for the work. Alex has a unique creative voice that deserves to be heard and seen by a much wider audience. There needs to be more support for independent voices in comics. So go get those those coupons and take action, it’s best if you bring them in to the stores by April 13th.

I remember Alex’s name from his art on the Mage : the Ascension game. He has done also some of the cards for the Mage Tarot. He has a unique style with attention given to inking and contrast. At least, that’s what I remember. I’ll check his site and his series.
